about

This is our debut studio record.

After a winter that saw big shifts and changes in our world, we holed up in a recording studio for two days in late spring, as the season was about to change, and powered through the creation of this EP. We wanted to make something that expressed who we had become, and something that gave our local music scene a fresh perspective - some literate power pop & indie rock with oomph. We think we accomplished that.

Thank you for listening.

Track Name: Drag You Away
Walkin' around this shitty town
I left lifetimes ago
Nothing to do but get lost
In a thick fog of nowhere to go

I thought I left it all behind me
All those years ago
Ghosts of the past aren't kind
You think they forget - they always know

You can't run away
From your yesterdays
You can hide, turn out the light
But they'll find you there one night
And they'll drag you away

Meet at the strip mall
The one that looks just like the other ones
Lock all the doors, we'll hide
But we got no food, no hope, no guns

Locked in the Wal-Mart where I worked
In my high school despair
Zombie apocalypse of indifference
Nuclear holocaust of "I don't care"

Go to my funeral at the old church
Somewhere off the square
Zombies, bad memories lurch
Around my coffin, and I swear

You can't run away
From your yesterdays
You can hide, turn out the light
But they'll find you there one night
And they'll drag you away

You can't run away
From your yesterdays
You can hide, turn out the light
But they'll find you there one night
And they'll drag you away
Track Name: Ten Years of Sleep
Wasted my twenties on the daily grind
Come outside to see the world in decline
Don't throw me out into the junkyard heap
I just woke up from ten years of sleep

Years spent sitting in little beige cubes
Sickly skin color of fluourescent tubes
Times to get out and take that leap
I just woke up from ten years of sleep

Nobody doubts me more than myself
So many creations left up on the shelf
It's long past time to sigh and weep
I just woke up from ten years of sleep

Ten years of sleep
Ten years of sleep
Ten years of sleep
It's time I got out of bed

Ten years of sleep
Ten years of sleep
Ten years of sleep
It's time I got out of bed
Track Name: The Robber Barons of 7th Street
Where I once laid my weary head
Now granite towers rise instead
My father's store is razed and torn
And mother's sick with grief in bed

My family once stood tall and proud
Now we're all lost amid the crowd
My tattered clothes reflect my woes
And it's revenge that I have vowed

Their gas and oil will make you gag
They run the worthless daily rag
They're full of lies and bold deceit
Those robber barons of 7th Street

For six long years I planned and schemed
Of their comeuppance I did dream
While they reaped bills from their oil drills
I'd punish them for all their schemes

And late one night at their party
As liquor flowed and rich men glowed
I crept up and gave a hearty
Laugh, and smiled at my pistol load
And they'd not forget who had beat them
As I drew the hammer back
And the building was swallowed in flames
I smiled…

Their gas and oil will make you gag
They run the worthless daily rag
They're full of lies and bold deceit
Those robber barons of 7th Street
